Whilst I was playing (trying to get it to work) with this little friend, I was listening to some R2 on steroids to keep me sane.

Result; light works. Wheels do run when turned on (briefly). But it does not respond to the remote. Needs a little bit of extra love and care. 💕 Who’ll give R2 a new home? 😉

Defenders of the planets got me back in trading toys again 15 years ago.

When a friend purchased a Grayskull set with a bunch of figures that had been listed as ‘good as new’, he was highly disappointed as many items were broken or badly repaired. And worst of all, there were several cheap figures that weren’t even He-Man…

And that was just his luck, as it turned out there was a full set of Defenders of the planets figures, and a couple of other knock offs. Instead of a bad buy, it turned out pretty profitable. And that’s what triggered me into getting back what I had not done for almost ten years. Flipping toys…

To all of our regulars; we’ll be back to listing lots of action figures again soon. Last week we dug into a collection of vintage lead toy figurines and soldiers.

Back story: in the 1980s my parents were avid collectors of Britains and related farm figures. I’ve been blessed with a childhood of collecting vintage toys, and attending a lot of toy shows to buy and sell. At one point the hobby took an unexpected turn. My parents got in touch with another collector, whom had acquired a big collection of original Timpo Toys molds when this company went bust. Funnily enough Timpo had used a lot of material from other lead toy soldier manufacturers, like Charbens, Britains, Wendal and Johilco.
Besides a collector, this man was also a pewterer. He had been on a quest to successfully recreate the hollow cast figures like they were made in the past. And with succes.
Together they started the (unofficial) company ‘Moorvale Models’, where he would deliver the raw castings, and my parents did the rest. My mum was an excellent painter. 😎
Many sets were planned, and full catalogues were printed. Unfortunately many sets never made it to production. The pewterer did not keep his end of the agreement, as he sold all molds without notice mid-project. And that was the end of this fun little adventure…

I thought everything had been sold years ago, but recently my folks unearthed a couple of boxes in their loft.

All of these have been added to our stock recently. If you’re looking for something unique and special… Well, in a way this is BoonsArt history 🤪😉

The minor differences on Throttle’s Martian Monster Bike are negligible (slight difference in tone, paint app and color). But the changes on Vinnie’s Radical Rocket Sled and Modo’s Mondo Chopper do stand out. How did I miss this? 🙄😬
